If you are a final year law graduate you may wish to consider qualifying at the New York and adding the title “Attorney-at-Law” to your credentials. By reason of the dominance of, inter alia, the English language, the Common Law, and US Fortune 1000 Corporations in the globalisation of the world economy, opportunities in international organisations, European law firms and in the increasing number of US firms who have a presence in Europe are more readily available to those with a US qualification.

Indeed, most law students are unaware that it is now possible to directly qualify as an Irish Solicitor by successfully sitting the Law Society's Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test (QLTT) having first qualified as a New York Attorney and so, it is achievable, within a 14 month period, to acquire leading domestic and international professional legal credentials.

Candidates will undoubtedly make themselves more marketable in a competitive legal market place at home and abroad with this outstanding international qualification included in their Curriculum Vitae. Indeed, many of our successful candidates return to Ireland having acquired invaluable professional experience in Continental Europe and the United States together with the enhanced personal development afforded by such international experience.

With the convenience of a common language, and a legal system based on Common Law, a US qualification is far more achievable than you might have first thought.

The programme is delivered by the Friarylaw team, lead by Oliver J. Connolly BL, an Irish Barrister, New York & US Supreme Court Attorney and American Arbitration Association World Fellow, in collaboration with Central Law Training, the largest organisation providing postgraduate training to lawyers in the UK and with BAR/BRI, America's premier Bar Review provider.
