Hey,

The first IV of the year (apart from Cork of course!) will take place in UCD on Friday the 28th and Saturday the 29th of November.

So what's an 'iv'? Well it stands, not for 4 as I thought last year, but for 'inter-varsity.' Basically first time and veteran debaters from around Ireland and the world converge on UCD for two days of debating. Apart from debating the ivs offer competitors all the free food, drink and craic they can handle late into the night!

This year the Society will be running the event as a pro-am offering inexperienced speakers the opportunity to speak witht the experienced.

The society will heavily subsidise accomodation and travel expenditures for all new speakers and pro-am teams.

Individuals who wish to go should post their name and numbers here and indicate whether or not they wished to be paired with a pro.

However, those of you who wish to enter with someone you already know (2 to a team) should post both people's names and contact numbers here.

All entrants should indicate whether they will be travelling with the society and whether they want accomodation from the society.

There will be a special workshop for all interested parties next Tuesday at half seven in the Kane building.

We plan to leave Cork Friday morning and return Sunday. Details of travel and accomodation will follow shortly.

If you want to have a cheap weekend in Dublin, doing something different, meeting new and interesting people all while developing a useful skill get postin'!

Alternatively people may enter by mailing the relevant details to viceauditor@ucclawsociety.com

I will be announcing more details in first year classes in the coming days

EXAMPLE
